Have a couple cracks and creaks around your home? Here are a few quick weekend home repair projects you can do yourself:
*To silence a squeaky floor, sprinkle the loose boards with baby powder and sweep it into the cracks
* If a faucet leaks, replace the washer. Use soft washers for cold water taps and harder washers for hot.
* Remove oil stains from you garage floor or driveway by sprinkling cat litter on the stain, grinding it in with your shoe, and then sweeping after it settles for an hour. Alternately, you can spray stains with WD-40, let them soak, and rinse after 15 minutes.
* To re-caulk your bathroom, remove the old caulk with a scraper; if it needs softening, use a hair dryer. After removing, wipe the areas with denatured alcohol, and let them dry overnight. Reseal with a new bathtub-specific caulk.
* Unclog sinks by pouring 1/4 cup of baking soda into the drain followed by one cup of vinegar. Cover the drain with a lid after pouring, and then flush it out with hot water after 15 minutes.
